Mary Bentley

Mary Nell Griffin Bentley, 79, of Birmingham, went peacefully to her Heavenly home June 22, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Griffin.

She is survived by Ray Bentley, her sister, Shirley Warren (Radford) and her three sons, Bobby Bentley, David Bentley (Tinka), and Brian Bentley (Audra). She had twelve grandchildren:  Robby Bentley (Jennifer), Rebecca Ragland (Justin), Breanna Bentley, Ryan Bentley (Kelsey), Marc Bentley, Stephen Bentley, Madison Hobbs (Joey), Katelyn Bentley, Brandi Edwards (Ezra), Patrick Conlee (Catherine), Hunter Conlee, Brooks Conlee and also eight great-grandchildren: Caleb Bentley, Isabella Bentley, Isaac Bentley, Bentley Ragland, Parker Ragland, Isla Edwards, Adeline Edwards and Jovie Belle Conlee, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mary grew up in the Birmingham area. She spent over 20 years as a dedicated employee of Baker and Sons Dairy. She then went on to work for Barber’s Dairy for another decade before joining her son Brian in real estate, in an administrative role with his group. Spending time with her family and friends brought her great joy. This often included trips to the Gulf Coast and adventures with her girls.

Mary was a member of Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She showed us all, by example, how to be selfless, supportive, and to love unconditionally.

Services for Mary will be Monday, June 28, 2021 at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 11:00 am and conclude with services beginning at 1:00 pm. Reverend Duwayne Pounds and Robby Bentley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hope Hospice.
