Mary Alldredge

ALLDREDGE, MARY-JO KRAMER, 83, after a long illness, transitioned from this life on June 26, 2010. Born in 1927 to George and Hanna Kramer, and raised in Cullman, Mary Jo graduated Sacred Heart College and later earned a B.S. in Journalism at Sienna College in Memphis, TN. She married John Tyler Alldredge JR., also of Cullman, and they settled in Birmingham. After raising four children, Mary retired through UAB and earned an M.A. in Counseling. She served as a Jefferson Co. Court Referral Officer for 17 years. She is loved and sorely missed by her son, Michael Alldredge of Birmingham; daughters, Andrea A. Mory (Bill) of Pottsborro, TX, Rita A. Smith (Stewart) of Chelsea, Anna Alldredge of Birmingham and Mary's brother, Casper Kramer (Gini) of Knoxville TN. She leaves behind grandchildren: Casey Smith (Jennifer), Kelley Brasher (Todd), Sarah Smith, Rachel Smith and Christopher Mory as well as many, Bennett and Kramer nieces and nephews and scores of friends. We will all remember her cheerful demeanor wry wit and compassion. Visitation Friday, July 2, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM and Saturday, July 3, 2010 from 11:30 AM until services begin at 1:00 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover.
