Martha Ezell Rumley born November 8, 1954 in Butler, AL died April 23, 2014. She was raised in Lisman, AL and received a bachelors at Livingston University. She resided in Livingston for years, and later settled in Birmingham where she worked as a Registered Nurse at UAB Hospital. Martha found great joy in travel, both across the country and around the world. She loved music and the arts, especially Native American art, and enjoyed tailgating with family and friends at Alabama football games. Her presence was always one of great generosity of spirit and enthusiasm felt by all those around her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles Rainer & Lucile Means Ezell; brothers, Rainer Clark Ezell & Donald Wayne Ezell; sister, Nora Kay Ezell.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Burke Rumley, III (Eleanore) & Andrew Rainer Rumley; grandchildren Alexander & Abigail; brothers Eugene Mark Ezell (Patricia), James Walter Ezell, Sr. (June) & David Leslie Ezell; eleven nieces & nephews; and lifelong friends Council Hightower & Lida Olson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 beginning at 11:00am at the Mt. Sterling Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society at gbhs.org and the Choctaw County UA Alumni Association at PO Box 595, Butler, AL 36904.
