Martha Nelson

of Hoover, passed away on January 22, 2006, at the age of 104. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen Nelson, and a son, William Alfred Nelson. She is survived by four sons, Kenneth W. Nelson (Billie Joe), Carroll E. Nelson, Dr. Paul D. Nelson (Mary) and Wallace D. Nelson (Maggie); three daughters, Maxine N. Gault, Ann N. Franks (Bill), and Patsy N. Clark (Jerry); and 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2006, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Mike McLemore and Rev. Bill Franks officiating. Mrs. Nelson's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Odyssey, Debt Retirement Fund at Lakeside Baptist Church, Baptist Childrens Home, or your favorite local charity.
