Martha Langston

Martha Durrett Doran Langston went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 5, 2016. She was a member of First Baptist Church Alabaster. Martha retired from the government after 29 years, with the last 20 years at the Internal Revenue Service. She attended Gulf Coast Community College, UAB, and the University of Montevallo. Martha volunteered her time to help with abused and neglected children through the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Program of Shelby County and various ministries of First Baptist Alabaster.

She is survived by her husband, E A. "Al" Miller; son, Keith Doran (Trish); stepson, Peter Langston (Cathy); 5 grandchildren, Karch, Keely, and Kade Doran, and Jonathan and Adam Langston; 4 brothers, William E. Durrett, Robert I Durrett (Linda), James L. Durrett (Faye), and Troy T. Durrett (Gale; 2 nieces; and many nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-3, Sunday, October 9, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Alabaster. Funeral will follow at 3 PM in the church. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.

Family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or First Baptist Church of Alabaster.
