Marshall Alan May was born in Forrest City, Arkansas on July 28, 1941, to John R. May and Elven Voss May. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Charlene Rushing and a brother John Rayburn May. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Crook May, his stepdaughter Elizabeth Threet Freeman and his grandson Bailey Threet.
He is survived by his brother Mitchell D. May, sister Phyllis Nance Lamb, daughter Alissa Varnadoe and son Darrel May and four grandchildren. Mr. May is also survived by his stepdaughter Sandy Threet McBrayer (John), stepsons Butch Threet (Julie), and Randy Threet, nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Mr. May was employed as a truck driver for 35 years with companies Time DC, Baxter and Roadway. Upon his retirement in 1996, he spent his time gardening, fishing and his very favorite pastime, watching baseball.
Visitation will be at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL, 35244 on Sunday March 10, 2024, at 3:00pm until 5:00 pm. A graveside service will be at Memorial Park South Woods in Memphis, Tennessee on Monday March 11, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
