Marjorie Dover Ross of Birmingham, AL, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 29 at the age of 73. Margie was born on March 25, 1950, in Berkeley, CA to Reginald and Helen Dover. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of South Alabama and a master's degree in Library Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Throughout her career, Margie has been a preschool teacher at Homewood Day School, an elementary school librarian at Shades Mountain Elementary and Green Valley Elementary, and a published author.
Margie is survived by her daughters, Ashley Ross and Allyson Agerton. She is also survived by her siblings Susan (David) Dees, Mark Dover, Randall (Susan) Dover, Jeff (Kim) Dover, Jenny Dover and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Emmet Ross, and her parents, Reginald and Helen Dover.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 8 from 3pm to 5pm followed by a Celebration of Life service at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home at 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244.
