Marjorie Derr

of Hoover, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the age of 89. She was a member of Hobe Sound Presbyterian Church in Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert G. Derr; a brother, Williard Walsh; and a granddaughter, Bethany Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Taylor (Skip); a grandson, Ozzie Taylor (Christy) of Vestavia; a grandson-in-law, Scott Johnson of Helena; 4 great grandchildren, Abbey and Peyton Taylor, and Allison and Hunter Johnson; a brother, Howard B. Walsh of Beverly Hills, FL; and 2 sisters, Mabel Allyn of Lakeland, FL and Phyllis Hamilton of Kauai, HI. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 18, 2008, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. A Memorial Service will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brandon Carter officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Youth Dept. at Lakeside Baptist Church or to Comfort Care Hospice.
