Marilyn Palmer Cooper, 88, passed away on November 12, 2023, in Cape Coral, FL.
Marilyn Cooper was born on May 14, 1935, in Amory, MS, to Clyde Palmer and Ida Lee Palmer.
Marilyn graduated from Smithville High School and went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Itawamba Junior College in Fulton, MS. She started her career as a Payroll secretary at BellSouth and retired at age 55.
Marilyn was a cancer survivor and worked for Touching You, helping fit cancer patients with prostheses, and encouraging their journey to recovery.
Marilyn married Howard Cooper on June 29, 1974, at Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. The couple did not have children but had many adoring nieces and nephews.
Marilyn enjoyed attending church, family gatherings, traveling to the mountains, walking, shopping, and supporting her husband Howard's love for Alabama football by accompanying him to games as long as they were able.
Marilyn is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Glenda Pennington (Talmadge) - sister, of Cape Coral, Jackie Palmer (Virginia) - brother, of Amory, MS.
Marilyn is preceded in death by Howard Cooper - spouse, Johnny Clyde Palmer - father, Ida Palmer - mother, Shirley Palmer - brother.
The service for Marilyn Cooper will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation: Tuesday, at 10:00 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home.
Burial: Jefferson Memorial Gardens South, Hoover, Alabama
