Marie Moody

of Birmingham, native of Autauga County, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the age of 80. She loved teaching and working with children. She fulfilled this passion as a school teacher and later as a day care owner. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Russel Carl Moody and a son, Ken. She is survived by 3 daughters, Laura Pickens (Jim), Janet Carr (Dennis) and Carol Clifton; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Jim Clifton; 3 sisters, Betty Murphree (Luther), Ginger Wyatt (Nelson) and Dot Giles (Bill); a special friend, Clark Herron; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family. Graveside service will be on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 11:30 at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, AL with Rev. Lynn Bledsoe officiating. A gathering of friends and family will follow at the home of Laura and Jim Pickens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to United World Missions, 704-357-3355.
