Marie Hill

Marie Frosburg Hill, 96, of Homewood, AL went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. She was an active church member for many years at Homewood Cumberland Presbyterian Church. During World War II she worked as a welder in Savannah, Ga. She worked for JC Penny for twenty plus years and after retirement she and her husband owned and operated Hill Variety in Woodlawn for over a decade. She was an avid sports fan and she loved Alabama football and the old Baltimore Colts. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of sixty-seven years, Burnie Hill, son, Donald Hill of NC and infant son, Ronnie Hill.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Keller (Ed) and Roxanne Wise (Luke), daughter-in-law, Susie Hill, brother, Robert Rosenfeld, grandchildren; Donna Allen (Mike), Steve Hill (Barbara), Mark Hill (Annette), David Keller, Keith Keller (Missy), Andrea Mason Bullard and Michael Mason, nine great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 22, 2014, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the chapel with Reverend M. Derek Jacks officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Homewood Cumberland Presbyterian Church 513 Columbiana Rd Homewood, AL 35209.
