Margaret Lewis

Margaret Anne Walker Lewis of Hoover, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the age of 87. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama and was the oldest of five children. Margaret Anne was a beloved and dedicated member of Riverchase United Methodist Church, where she served in many ways but was most passionate about her participation in the choir.

She is survived by her brother, Gilbert Walker (Johnnie), her sister, Judy Mueller, her brother Averyt Walker (Brenda), and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Lewis, her parents, Gilbert and Elizabeth Walker, and her sister, Betty Joyce Brooks (Mickey). Margaret Anne was a dear friend, a loving wife and beloved sister. She will always be remembered for her charming wit, elegance and grace.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 am at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Richard Hunter officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Riverchase United Methodist Church in Hoover, Alabama.
