JACKMAN, MARGARET, 80, of Bessemer, passed away May 29, 2006 at home with her family after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Charlotte, NC on January 18, 1926, Mrs. Jackman was a long time employee of Southern Company Services. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, community and church volunteer, and she will be remembered by all who knew her for her courage and sweet spirit. To cherish her memory, she leaves her husband of 58 years, George Jackman; daughters Amy Whalen (Mike) and Debra Jackman (Darryl Scearce); sister, Melba Golightly; brother, Dwight Blackmon; grandson, Matthew Watkins, and a great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 31, 2006 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Sister Gail Donahoo officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
