Donaldson, Margaret DeLoach, age 83, of Hoover passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019. She was born in Roanoke AL on January 8, 1936, the daughter of James Theo and Bertha Brumbeloe DeLoach. She was a 1954 graduate of Handley High in Roanoke and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Auburn University in 1957, marrying Marlin Talmadge Donaldson later that year, a U.S. Army veteran she met while at the university. Professionally she gave long service to Baptist Medical Centers in the Birmingham area, retiring in the mid '80s. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by a son, Marlin Talmadge Donaldson, Jr. (Kim); a daughter-in-law, Brenda Stroup Donaldson of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchildren, Natalia, Aleyna, Erin (Warren), Hunter, Amber (John) and Channing; four great-grandchildren, Brayden, Lexi, Maddox, and Wyatt; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her eldest son, Major Theo DeLoach Donaldson, USAF (Ret.) in 2006; her husband of 50 years, Talmadge Donaldson in 2008; sister Ann McClendon and her husband John; sister-in-law Emogene Murphy and her husband Chuck; and brother-in-law Phonso Donaldson (Mary).
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11, 2020, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, HWY 150, Hoover, with a memorial service immediately following in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
