Mabel Roy

Mrs. Mabel Roy passed peacefully from her earthly home to her heavenly reward on March 10, 2011. Mrs. Roy was born in Clayton, Georgia, the daughter of Mae and Dank James. She was the middle of nine children. For many years, she worked at the Mcadory School cafeteria. Mrs. Roy never confused what she did to survive with who she really was. She was a faithful and loving wife, a loving and devoted mother, and a faithful and grateful Christian. Mrs Roy was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 45 years, F.A. She is survived by three children, Jim, Jeanne (George), and John (Joann) and four grandchildren Lonnie, Wesley, Taylor, and Dusty. The funeral service will be held Saturday at the Eastern Valley Baptist Church in Bessemer at 3:00. Prior to the service the family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00. In lieu of flowers we invite those who wish to honor our mother to donate to the F.A. Roy library at Eastern Valley Baptist Church. Mabel Roy will be missed, but will never be for forgotten. Her love lingers behind like a sweet perfume.
