Lynda Holifield Kendrick (8/4/1940 - 11/13/2023)
Lynda was born in Marion, Alabama to J. Clarence and Sybil P. Holifield. She graduated from Perry County High School (Class of 1958) and attended Auburn University and Judson College. She married Allen Dunkin Kendrick, who remained her husband until his death in 2018. Allen and Lynda had two children, Susan Kendrick Richardson (Chad Lynn Richardson) and Allen (Ken) Dunkin Kendrick, Jr (Leslie Rasberry Kendrick), and one grandson, Tyler Ross Kendrick.
In addition to raising two children, Lynda worked in a variety of accounting roles during her early years. She was an avid gardener and loved traveling. Some of her happiest years were spent with her grandson, Tyler. Lynda was an animal lover. She grew up with horses, goats, dogs and cats. There was never a time in her life that she was not surrounded by animals.
The family lived an exciting life, relocating frequently as part of Allen's job. Lynda and Allen lived in 10 states and 16 cities. Eventually they returned to their family home in Hoover, AL, where they lived until Allen's death in 2018. Lynda then moved to Atlanta, GA to live with her daughter, Susan and son-in-law, Chad.
Lynda's last two years were spent in a memory care home resulting from her advanced Alzheimer's. She remained happy and enjoyed life until the end.
