Lynda Jean Bereiter Love was born February 5, 1953 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Robert Bereiter and Ann Bereiter. Her family moved to Birmingham, AL in 1969 for Robert to work at Barbers Ice Cream. She graduated from Berry High School in 1971 where she was a member of Delta Tau Omega sorority. She then followed in her mother’s footsteps to go into nursing and graduated from Jefferson State’s nursing school in 1984 where she was in the Phi Theta Kappa honors society. She retired in 2012 after working as a registered nurse for 27 years where she met her best friend Rebecca Shell. Lynda loved her family very much including two daughters, Kimberly Ann Love and Kristen Love Tortorici and especially one grandchild, Michael “MJ” Tortorici Jr. Lynda was a huge sports fan including Alabama football, NASCAR and the NBA as well as a music lover of all kinds. She also was fascinated by the weather and weather events. Lynda was also a significant supporter of various animal and wildlife rescue charities. Lynda is preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Ann Bereiter. Lynda is survived by her sisters Debra Martin and Beverly Evans (Dan), brother David Bereiter (Dominique), daughters Kimberly Love and Kristen Tortorici (Michael), grandson Michael “MJ” Tortorici Jr, and best friend Rebecca Shell. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens South in Hoover, Alabama.
