Lucille Zicarella Nicks

On Wednesday, October 23, 2019, Lucille Zicarella Nicks, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt went to be with the Lord, at the age of 91.

Lucille lived a full life.  After retiring from her job, she started working at Our Lady of the Valley (OLV) after school program for over 30 years.  These were some of her happiest times.  She had a passion for Alabama Football.  She loved cheering the team to victory whether in front of the TV or at the Sugar Bowl.  She loved Mardi Gras, as she was originally from New Orleans; and she loved a parade.

Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Nicks, Sr.; her parents, Louis and Frances Zicarella; and her sister, Sara McClain.  She is survived by her son, John H. Nicks, Jr.; her daughter, Janet Mareno (Greg); grandchildren, Jennifer Petitjean (Buddy) and Brian Mareno (Brittany); great grandchildren, Lane, Levi, Logan, and Avery; a niece, Pam McClain; and a host of cousins.

The family will receive friends from 9-10, Monday, October 28, 2019, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church on Hwy 119 in Pelham.  Funeral mass will follow at 10 AM, Msgr. Roland officiating.  Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
