Louise Morris

Mrs. Louise Porter Morris, formerly of Bessemer, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the age of 89. She was a longtime member of Canaan Baptist Church, Greenwood. For many years, she worked in the shoe department of Parisians in Vestavia Shopping Mall. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Morris, and a brother, James Porter. She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Becker (John), and a son, William Britt Morris (Nena Beth); 5 grandchildren, Kurt Becker, Kevin Becker (Lilly), Kari Crawford (Robert), Elizabeth Morris and William "Will" Morris; 4 great grandchildren, Emily, Sara, Hannah and Amanda; 2 sisters, Lois Swaggart and Gladys Davis Lagle; a brother, Roger Porter (Dottie); and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 12 to 2:00 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeremy Sorrells and Rev. Jerry Turner officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South with Joe Littlepage officiating.
