Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many passed peacefully Thursday surrounded by love.  A musician, singer, seamstress, gardener and bird watcher, Lou enjoyed retirement showering her family with love in Calera, AL. She was always ready with a smile and a laugh. She loved to dance and to cook for her loved ones. When you had her as a friend, you knew you had a friend for life.
Preceded in death by loving husband, Amos Hosey, parents, Ernest and Annie Hollis, and daughter, Amanda (Gena). Survived by children Jimbo (James D) Hosey (Teresa), Tracy Gilliom (Bryan); grandchildren Chris Dunn (Ruth), Aaron Hosey (Jordan), Justin Hosey (Ally) and Jarred Hosey (Destiney); 7 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren plus countless friends and distant family. We are eternally grateful to our angel walking, Shirley Dumas, for the love, care and friendship she has shown us all, especially Lou.
Visitation Thursday 4/22/21 6p - 7p at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover. Visitation Friday 4/23/21 at 1p at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home followed by a graveside Service at Patton Chapel Cemetery (Hoover 1st Methodist Church) at 2p.
