Louise Frazier

Louise Thomas Frazier, age 88, died at Baptist Shelby in Birmingham, Alabama.
Mrs. Frazier was born May 26, 1926 to the late Otto and Ruby B. Thomas in Franklinton, LA. She graduated valedictorian of her class from Thomas High School and also from Spencer Business College in New Orleans. She worked as a secretary in New Orleans for several years following graduation.
On August 12, 1950 she married Roy Allan Frazier of New Orleans. Following her marriage she was a devoted housewife and mother. She and Roy had a family of three children.
Through the years, Mrs. Frazier and her family lived in Louisiana, Florida, Alabama, California and Arizona. Mrs. Frazier was always active in her community church and women’s ministries. She served in her community as an American Cross Grey Lady, church librarian, relief secretary and helped with various charity fund raisers. For the past 25 years she was a member of The Chapel in Pines Presbyterian Church in Birmingham and active as long as her health allowed.
Mrs. Frazier lived out her faith in everyday living by being a devoted wife and mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, neighbor and friend. She enjoyed meeting and helping people. She made time to visit the elderly, take meals and minister to others. She was a good neighbor, always willing to help.
She enjoyed sewing and was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed growing flowers, especially day lilies.
During the last few years she has lived in a memory care/assisted living facility. She brought much joy to the other residents and caregivers during this time along life’s journey.
She was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Ruby Thomas, her husband Roy Frazier, two brothers Lerue Thomas and R O Thomas, a sister-in-law Nelline Thomas, and a son-in-law Robert Lucky. She is survived by her three children, Valerie Frazier Lucky, Donna Frazier Schimmel (Richard), and James Frazier (Kyoko); her sister Margie Passman of Franklinton, 7 grandchildren, Marie Childs Brunson, Laura Childs Griffin, Lou Schimmel Pate, Bryan Schimmel, Dan Lucky, Holly Bell and Julie Lucky, 11 great grandchildren, and 7 nieces and nephews.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Thomas Cemetery.
