On May 21, 2016, Louise VanDeventer Boyd, of Vestavia, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief illness, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband, David, of 49 years.
She is survived by her children: Gwendolyn Boyd, D. Garrison (Shelley) Boyd, Sandi (Philip) Robers, and Barbara Boyd. Also by her grandchildren: Gretchen Scott, Marshall Robers, Rebecca Turnbull, Greta Gill, Brian Boyd, Sarah Hyatt, Noelle Boyd, Lauren Boyd, step-grandchildren Heather (Mike) Moskal and Jeff (Shannon) Hickox, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Louise was born in Evanston, Illinois, on August 25, 1919, to the union of Ralph F. and Lyda C. VanDeventer. She graduated from the University of Colorado and married David in 1941. She worked as a homemaker and church secretary.
She moved to Birmingham in 1991 after David’s death, to be close to her young granddaughters. Since then, she has been active with her church, and has many friends.

The family will receive friends from 12-1, Monday, May 23, 2016, at Birmingham International Church, 1380 Montgomery Highway. Service will follow at 1 PM in the church. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
