Lou Pierce

July 5, 1957 — September 27, 2021

Helena

Lou Edna (Goff) Pierce went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2021. Lou was born on July 5, 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was a long-time resident of Helena, Alabama.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Eleanor Goff; and her brother-in-law, Larry Clayton.

She is survived by her son, Derek (Tiffany); grandsons, Britton (14), Eli (9), and Tucker (5); sisters, Cathy Elaine Clayton and Patsy Glasscock (Wayne); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and lifelong best friend, Cindy Skinner Richey (Amos).

She was known as LaLa to her three grandsons. She spent many hours baking and decorating cookies for birthdays and special events. She bought or made costumes for many school events for her grandsons. Lou spent many hours at the ball field supporting her son Derek, and then carried on that tradition with her grandsons up until recently. She worked all her adult like for her family at City Truck and Trailer Parts, Inc. and Clayton Management. She loved trips to the beach and the casinos, but her most memorable one was a recent trip to Disneyworld with her family.

A celebration of her life will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Friday, October 1, 2021. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. The service will begin at 2:00pm. A graveside service will immediately follow. The service will be officiated by Neil Bailey and Milton Skinner.

She always loved a road trip. She will be attended on this final road trip to her resting place by her son, Derek; grandsons, Britton, Eli, and Tucker; and nephews, Del Clayton, Howard O’Neal, Matt Glasscock, Aaron Clayton, Clay O’Neal, Will Glasscock, William O’Neal, and Nevin Kafer.

The family would like to thank the staff at UAB Palliative and Comfort Care Unit for their loving care and compassion shown to Lou and her family during her time there. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to the UAB Center for Palliative and Supportive Care, Department of Medicine Development Office, 1808 7th Avenue South BDG 420, Birmingham, AL 35294-0012.
