Lou Childers

Mrs. Lou Ellen Lovelady Childers,of Helena, AL, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the age of 74. A lifelong resident of Helena, AL, she graduated from Thompson High School in 1957. She married 1963 and started her family, being a homemaker until later in life. She worked at Wal-Mart as a sales associate until Diabetes forced her to quit in 2007. She loved for things to be as close to perfect as possible and always encouraged people to follow their dreams and succeed. She will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene A. Childers, her parents, Lester and Martha Lovelady, a brother, Lester Lovelady, and three sisters, Elizabeth Stuman, Francis Dunnaway, and Jo Henderson. She is survived by two sons, Darren Childers (Kym) and Bobby Childers, a daughter, Gina Ennis, two brothers, Jimmy Lovelady (Barbara) and Johnny Lovelady (Debbie), a sister, Ann Carroll, three grandchildren, Brock Childers, Garrett Childers, and Jennifer Hernandez (Ivan), and four great grandchildren, Rylee Childers, JoLee Childers, Carter Hernandez and Madelyn Hernandez. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 6-8 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 11 AM at the funeral home with Reverend Bill Heaton officiating. Interment will follow in Helena City Cemetery.
