Lois Louisa (Sherry) Okon, 81, of Hoover, AL, passed away on January 22, 2023, in Hoover AL.

Visitation will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on February 3rd at 10:00 AM. Funeral service will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church Hoover AL following visitation at 11:00 AM with Reverend John Fallon of Prince of Peace Catholic Church officiating. Burial and graveside service will be on February 15that Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse NY. 

Lois is survived by her two brothers, Donnie (Edna), Charles (Dianne). Her three sons Carman (Cathy), Stanley (Tara) and John (Valerie), five grandchildren Jessica (Matt), Mark (Ashley), Laurin, John Scott, CJ, and three great grandchildren Joshua, Kaleb, and Blair. She is preceded in death by her husband Stanley (Whitey) Okon, her parents Horace and Gwyneth, Brothers Carman, Louie, Fred, and sisters Gwyneth (Cookie), and Mary Ann.

Lois was born in Syracuse NY to Horace and Gwyneth Mosher on August 9th, 1941. She went to high school at West Genesee High School and graduated in 1959. She retired from New Venture Gear in Syracuse NY, after retirement she moved to Albany GA where sheworked as an Administrative Clerk for the City of Albany Engineering Department. She moved the final time to Hoover AL where she worked as a head cashier for The Home Depot. She enjoyed both bowling and ceramics.

This was one of her favorite ministries that feeds the homeless in the Birmingham community. Burial will be held on February 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM in New York
