Lois Harmon

Lois Bowden Harmon, a resident of Vestavia Hills died Friday, March 16, 2018, at the age of 87. She was a charter member of the Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Talladega High School and Talladega Business College. She retired from Social Security Administration in 1995 after 23 years of service. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William E. Harmon.

She is survived by her sons, William Dennis Harmon (Jane) of Columbus, MS and Dr. Harvey Scott Harmon (Dr. Renee) of Mt. Brook, AL; two granddaughters Elena Harmon Wisse and Christina Elizabeth Harmon.

Visitation with friends and family will be on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 PM in the original Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church building. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, in Hoover, AL.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests any memorials be made to the Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church, 2541 Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, AL 35243.
