Lindsey Smith

Lindsey, of Alliance, AL, passed away on August 14, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Uel Smith and Ruby Lee Smith, and brother, Donald Smith.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Ann Smith, son, Lindsey N. Smith, stepson, Robert Scholl (Cheryl), grandsons, Zachery Taylor Scholl and Jax Harrison Scholl, sister, Sara Ellen London (Billy), brother, Carl S. Smith (Sue), sister-in-law, Silvia Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
Lindsey graduated from Coosa County High School, Rockford, AL in 1949. He then served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Goss for 4 years. After receiving a degree in Business Administration from Samford University (Howard), he worked 4 years with Hayes Aircraft, 32 1/2 years with Chevron Corporation and 5 1/2 years as a People Greeter at WalMart.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 18, 2014, from 11 -12 PM at Maytown Baptist Church, 4679 Birmingport Road, Maytown, AL 35118, where Lindsey was a member. The funeral service will follow at 12 PM at the church. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. There will not be graveside services.
