Lewis Albert Shirley, Iii

Lewis Albert Shirley, III, age 67, of Northport, Ala., passed into his Heavenly home on May 12, 2019. A longtime resident of Northport, Alabama, Lewis leaves behind a legacy of service, family and love. He served for many years with Gideons International, The Lions Club and was an active volunteer of the alumni association at Marion Military Institute. Although always working hard at Weatherford Printing Company, the family business, Pop took every opportunity to show his support of family. He modeled love and commitment through the example of his 48 year marriage to Shirley. Lewis leaves behind a lifetime of memories and stories to temper our grief. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Albert Shirley, Jr. and Gertrude Simpson Shirley; and sister, Jane Shirley Olson.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Shirley Appleby Shirley; daughters, Jennifer Moore (James) and Mary Beth Stephens (David); son, Lewis Albert Shirley, IV; sister, Susan Shirley Smith (William); grandchildren, McKenna and Abigail Moore, Jordan and Faith Stephens.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 1, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church, 6622 Unity Rd., Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
