of Hoover, passed away Monday, March 14, 2005 at the age of 75. He was a member of the Gardendale First Baptist Church , and was a member of the Welcome Sunday School Class. Mr. Edney retired from U. S. Steel after 37 years of service. He enjoyed all types of fishing, and loved to work in his garden. He is survived by his wife, Jewel Edney, of Hoover; one son, Michael Edney, of Hoschton, GA; one daughter, Lisa Edney, of Hoover; two brothers, Fred L. Edney of Gainesville, FL and Curt Edney of Clanton, AL; one sister, Belle Rigsby, of Hoover; several neices and nephews and many friends; and his little companions, Sophie and Letty. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 from 6 to 8 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 11:00 am at the Gardendale First Baptist Church , with Rev. Mark Harrison, Rev. Leon Zalenski and Rev. S. L. Williamson officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Memorials may be made to the Gardendale First Baptist Church Building Fund. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing.
