Lee Pearson, Jr

passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010. He was born February 14, 1943 in Bessemer, Alabama. He was a life-long member of Canaan Baptist Church, Bessemer, Alabama and served as trustee. He was a licensed land surveyor and real estate broker. He served as a member of the Bessemer Chamber of Commerce and Bessemer Industrial Development Board. He was an endowment member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Moore Pearson Sr. and his mother, Olivia Blackerby Pearson. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Katie Fuller Pearson; son, David Lee Moore Pearson III; daughter, Jamie Pearson Shields; grandson, Audie Lee Shields; granddaughter, Amanda Kate Shields and brother John Calvin Pearson (Debbie). The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Michael Burch and Dr. Maria Bennett; Beth, Alex and David of New Beacon Hospice; and Joe Soles of Seniors Choosing To Live At Home. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2011, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral home in Hoover, Alabama. Graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South with Rev. Bill McCall officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Building Fund at Canaan Baptist Church located at 2543 Morgan Road, Bessemer, AL 35022
