Lee Cathey

Lee Edward Cathey, born July15, 1942 met his heavenly Father on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the age of 82. Ed was born in Ashville, NC. Ed was the son of John Mack and Ethel Mae Cathey, both of whom predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his brother John Ransom and son-in-law Charles Bellsnyder.

Ed is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years Janice, daughter Deanna Bellsnyder and son John (Andrea). He leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren, Mason Bellsnyder (Bailee), Colton Bellsnyder (Keenan), Allen Edward Cathey and John William Cathey. Ed was also blessed with a host of nieces and a nephew and sister-in-law Sharon, all of whom brought him great joy.

Ed was a devout Christian and a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church where he was a faithful member of the Adult Choir and later the Senior Adult Choir. He was a military veteran and enjoyed a career in Human Resources for over 30 years. He loved fishing, golf and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. His generosity and strong faith will be remembered by all who knew him.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hunter Street Baptist Church in Ed's memory.
