Leasi Carranza Crookshank

d. October 20, 2024

Leasi Carranza Crookshank was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at age 84. While her passing was sudden and unexpected, those that loved her find comfort in knowing that she went to be with the Lord and has entered her eternal resting place. Leasi was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and was one of twelve children. Leasi loved her family greatly and she will be missed by the many people that cared for her so deeply.

Leasi was a long standing member of Shannon Nazarene Church. She loved her church family with all her heart and she especially adored the children that attended on Sundays. Leasi's love and dedication to the Lord was not only shown in her testimony, but also in the way she witnessed to others. She was affectionately known by many as "The Church Lady" and she was always quick to share a riddle or invite you to go to Church with her. Her love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she shared her testimony at church on the morning of the day she passed.

Leasi is survived by her daughter, Ramona Leasi Carranza Cunningham (James Emory), her two grandsons, James Cunningham and David Cunningham, her siblings Roberta Hagaman, Terry Stevens, Sr., Samuel Stevens, and Sonya Fay Stevens, her beloved fur babies, Joey and Skeeter, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Merrill Crookshank, her son, Kurt Rhoe Carlyle Carranza, her father, Robert Stevens, her mother Gertrude Stevens Johnson (and her husband Andy Johnson), her brothers Marshall Eugene Fox, Jr., Tommy Stevens, Billy Stevens, Eddie Stevens, her sisters Carolyn Knatcal Weissman, Mary Van Lieu, and Cathy Howard.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, the funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with her burial immediately following.
