Larry Mcgriff

Mr. Larry Eugene McGriff, 84, of Vestavia Hills, AL passed away on October 17, 2020. He was born in Holly Pond, AL on August 17, 1936 to the late Willard and Lorene McGriff. Larry was a Deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church for numerous years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was always smiling and loved everyone, never met a stranger. He never had a complaint and was always optimistic about life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia Malone McGriff; son, Stephen McGriff (Jan); daughter, Sherri Hodges (Bill); grandchild, Blake McGriff; brother, Donald McGriff (Bonnie); sisters, Barbara Baker and Virginia Booth (Don); and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The graveside service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South with Pastor Jim Profetto officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Oak Grove Baptist Church at 6555 Cahaba Valley Road, Birmingham, AL 35242.
