Kristen Flaucher

of Hoover, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at the age of 41. Kristin was employed by the Hoover School System at Spain Park Middle School, and had been previously employed by the Mountain Brook Board of Education. She received both her BS and MS degrees in Elementary Education form Samford University. She was a member of Kappa Delta Epsilon and Kappa Delta Pi, honor societies in Education. She received the Student Teacher of the Year award and the Teacher Scholar of the Year award from Samford University. She also received the Challenger Center Teacher of the Year award from the McWane Science Center. She was preceded in death by her Dad, James "Jim" Phillips. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband Michaell, and son, Christopher James; her mother, Margaret Phillips-Cleveland (Tom); a sister, Kelley J. Crenshaw (Jeff); nephews, Phillip and Jon Moore; and a host of cousins and other family members. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20, 2007, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 21, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Tom Cleveland and Dr. Gary Fenton officiating. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children's Hopital, 1600 7th Ave. South, Birmingham, AL 35282.
