Kenneth Kubacki

Kenneth Joseph Kubacki, age 80, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 31, 2023. He was born in Chicago on July 16, 1942. Kenneth married Anna Marie Stojak on February 13, 1965. Kenneth graduated from Chicago Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in 1964. Kenneth spent the first 22 years of his career at Chicago Bridge and Iron (CB&I), where he progressed his career across several cities, including Memphis, Houston, and Birmingham. Most recently, Kenneth was appointed President of the Stupp Bros. Bridge and Iron Company and to the Board in 1994 and served the company through his retirement in December 2022.

Ken was devoted to his family, as husband, father, and grandfather. He adored spending time with his grandchildren and most enjoyed grilling in the backyard and cooking breakfast, which his family lovingly coined "Grandpa Eggs!" In his free time, Ken was an avid reader of U.S. history, enjoyed watching John Wayne films, playing and watching golf and rooting on local sports. Ken will be profoundly missed by his family, friends and co-workers.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Walter Kubacki, mother Lorraine Anna (Hucker) Kubacki and brother Robert Kubacki. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Kubacki; children, Kathryn Reynolds, Kenneth Kubacki, Jr., and Kristine Kubacki (Nickolas Kipper); grandchildren, Kathleen Reynolds, Kerrie Ray (Austin), Trey Reynolds and Anna Reynolds; and brother Ronald Kubacki (Connie).

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4600 Preserve Parkway, Hoover, Alabama 35226. Visitation begins at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association: www.heart.org
