Kenneth "Ray" Kiker, of McCalla, passed away on Thurs, Jan 25, 2018, at age 71. He was raised in B'Ham, AL, and attended Phillips H.S.. In 1965 he joined the U.S. Army and served for 3 years. Ray later retired after 34 years of service with the Homewood Parks and Recreation Board. He was also a member of Open Door Church for 35 years. He loved to travel, but especially loved his children and grandchildren. He was his three grandson's biggest fan and rarely missed a game or match. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Elizabeth Kiker; and his brothers, Charles "Jug" and Luther Kiker.
Ray is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gayle Kiker; son, Geoffrey Kiker (Laura); daughters, Stephanie Johnson (Paul) and Amy Patillo; grandson's, Levi and Landon Johnson, and Ryan Patillo; and sister, Carolyn Worden (Edward).
A Memorial Service will be held in Ray's honor on Sun, Feb 4, 2018, at 4 PM at Open Door Church. There will be a time of visitation immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Open Door Church.
