Kathryn Haggerty

Mrs. Kathryn "Kay" Barnes Haggerty, 85, of Vestavia Hills, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. She was a member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. She was a receptionist for "The Club" for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend to many. She is survived by her son, James A. "Jimmy" Haggerty, Jr. (Georgia) and her daughter, Cindy Demyan (Phil); 6 grandchildren, Allison, Emily, and Kathryn Haggerty, Christian, Brandon and Dyan Demyan; 3 great grandchildren, Hayden and Haley Haggerty and Carter Demyan; one sister, Eloise Tyner, and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 2 PM in the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Pastor Tom Parrish will be officiating.
