Kathleen Perkins

Kathleen Owens Perkins, of Helena, passed away on April 18, 2018, at age 88. She was a retired elementary school teacher who served for 30 years in both the Birmingham and Shelby County school systems. She was a charter member of Riverchase Church of Christ. She was a strong and faithful Christian who loved God's word. She had a good work ethic, and was always honest and loyal. There was NEVER ANY doubt about her love for her family, her friends or her Savior! She was kind, generous and FUN to be with! She LOVED to travel, go to singings, play cards, swim and just be with friends and family! She has finished her earthly race and is now claiming her victory in Jesus!

Kathleen is survived by 2 sons, Robby Owens (Karen), and Larry Owens (Claire); a daughter, Kathy Handley (Lindsay); 6 grandchildren, Christy Hensley (John), Lauren King (Cody), Brandy Tuech (Jeff), Dr. Nathan Owens (Khandi), Matthew Owens (Kasey), and Dr. Patrick Owens (Lesley); 11 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Ralph Bearden; 2 sisters, Frances Lewis, and Shirley Genry (Don); and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 21, 2018, from 11 AM - 1 PM at Riverchase Church of Christ. The service will follow at 1 PM with Dewayne Spivey officiating.
