Katherine Wysong

Katherine Suggs Wysong, born May 13, 1925, passed away on December 19, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Atlas Suggs, her husband, Paul Barringer Wysong, Jr., her two sons, George Barringer Wysong and Paul Barringer Wysong III. She is survived by her daughter, Paulette Wysong-Schatz, a sister, Elizabeth Johnson of Waco, Texas and a nephew, Byron Johnson also of Waco. Mrs. Wysong was an excellent seamstress and was active in the Vestavia HIlls PTA when her children were young. She also devoted many years of her life caring for babies in the Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church nursery. She will be greatly missed. We would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Shelby Ridge, who cared for her in her last days. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
