Mrs. Katherine K. Ferretti, 94, of Birmingham, AL entered her eternal home on June 27, 2020. She was born on July 3, 1925 in Washington D.C. She received her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Delaware and, later in life, Master's in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh. She worked as a Librarian at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School and All Saints Episcopal School. She was an avid reader, cook, sports fan, and active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Most importantly, she was a devoted wife, a dutiful mom, and doting Nana and Great Nana.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Emmett J. Ferretti; parents, Jospeh F. Kienle and Agnes Wehn Kienle; brother, Joseph F. Kienle, Jr.; and sisters, Ann K. Lemon and Jane K. Jones.
She is survived by her sons, John Mark Ferretti and Andrew W. Ferretti (Joanna); daughters, Ann Marie Ferretti, Clare Moss (Jeff), Joan Wright (Carl), and Monica F. Ulzheimer (John); 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 9:00am to 10:00am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Hoover, AL. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00am with Father Thomas Kelly officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Peter's Catholic Church Building Fund at 2061 Patton Chapel Road, Birmingham, AL 35216, (205) 822-4480, ATTN: Building Fund
