Karen Bailey Jackson, our beloved mother and grandmother, entered Heaven on March 9, 2025. As Karen drew her last breath on this earth she was surrounded by family with love. She was 72.
Karen was the matriarch and heart of our family. Along with her high school sweetheart Albert 'Buddy' Jackson, Karen raised her two children, Todd and Holly in a loving home. Inside & outside of the home Karen was an advocate for children's education and even won the 2002-2003 Alabama District IV Teacher of the Year and was one of 16 finalists for the 2003-2004 Alabama Teacher of the Year. Karen never missed a teachable moment and loved her role as an educator. In her 30+ years, she taught thousands of children along the way at schools including but not limited to Rocky Ridge, Greystone, South Shades Crest and Deer Valley Elementary.
Karen is survived by her two children Todd Jackson (Tina) and Holly Dean (David), Her loving Sisters Kandice Snow (Mike) and Kristi Taylor (Randy), and Kay Kay's most dearly loved Grandchildren Houston (13), Emily (13), and Ella (11).
Karen was the heart and soul of our family and will be dearly missed. Services to be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens on Friday, March 14th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers or food, please consider a donation to one of Karen's two favorite charities: The University of Montevallo Scholarship Fund or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
