Karen Bragan

July 19, 1946 — March 13, 2022

Karen Bragan, age 75, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with her children by her side on March 13, 2022, in Pelham, AL.

Karen was born on July 19, 1946 in West Springfield, MA, to Lt. Col. Walter Heath, Jr. and Katheryn Stewart Heath.

She graduated from Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, Kansas and went on to study at Auburn University. She worked for the City of Pelham, in several different capacities and departments, and retired as magistrate/court clerk after 25 years.

Karen was best known for her beautiful smile, her genuine kindness towards any and everyone she ever met, her never ending positive attitude, and for her love for her children, grandchildren, and her entire family. She also loved Auburn and enjoyed attending as many football games as possible each year. Most importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and worshiping Him at Mountain Brook Community Church, where she was a member.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Brooke Elliott, son, Scottie Bragan, her grandchildren, Chase and Scott Elliott, sister Pam Grass and brother-in-law, Jay Grass, and many nephews and nieces who all loved and adored her.

Karen is preceded in death by her father, Lt. Col. Walter Heath, Jr., her mother, Katheryn Heath, and sister Lynn Heath Cook.
