Juan Casanova

Casanova, Juan Jose`, 80, of Birmingham, AL, passed away Sunday. Juan was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1930. A graduate of the University of Havana and arrived in the US in 1960 for political exile. He moved to Birmingham in 1962. He retired from US Pipe & Foundry Company after 25 years. He is survived by, his wife, of 48 years, Adelaida D Armas Casanova; two children, Jose` Juan Casanova and Mercedes Maria Casanova Mottek; four grandchildren, Jose` Armando, and Alexandra Nicole Casanova, Dominique Noelle, and Carl Theodore Mottek; one brother, Jose` Casanova Cancio; one sister, Berta Casanova Cancio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Casanova Montesino and Berta Cancio Casanova; two brothers, Pedro Casanova Cancio, and Carlos Casanova Cancio; one sister, Natividad Casanova Cancio. Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at 5:00 PM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, in Hoover, AL. Father Kennedy will be officiating.
