Joyce English

Mrs. Joyce Anne Horn English, of Birmingham AL, born in Centreville, AL, March 12, 1928, passed away on November 20, 2012, in Canton GA. Joyce was a long time member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Cahaba Heights, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lawrence English Sr, and her daughter Joy Lynne English. She is survived by her son, William Lawrence English Jr. (Larry)/Jennifer, Atlanta GA, her daughter, Jan Ellen English Whorton/Robert, Woodstock GA, her son, Mark Milling English/Lori, Raleigh NC, her grandsons, Robert Fennell Whorton Jr., USAF, Tucson AZ, William Nikola and Jakob Renfro English, Atlanta GA, her step-granddaughter, Cassidy Lynne Nolde, Raleigh NC. She taught kindergarten for many years, and loved to sing, sew, garden and cook. The funeral will be Monday, November 26, with visitation from 12 noon to 2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, with a graveside service at 2 PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, or Philadelphia Baptist Church.
