Joy Ethridge

Mr. Joy Ethridge, of Vestavia, born in Adger, AL, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the age of 83. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1958 with a Business Administration degree and worked for South Central Bell for 32 years. Joy was a Civitan and a Gideon. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church for over 50 years. He loved God first and then his family. He was a care giver to many. He exemplified Christ's love in all that he did. He is preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Edna Ruth Williams.

He is survived by his son, Greg (Debbie) Ethridge of Decatur; his daughter, Cynthia (David) Sansing of Jackson, MS; his grandchildren, Cherish Sansing, Charity (Greg) Jaspering and Paul Ethridge; his brother, Voyd (Sue Ann) Ethridge; and his sisters, Cora Mae Foster and Betty (Buddy) Kirkland.

The family will receive friends, Friday, May 6, 2016, from 6-8PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. The service will be on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 11AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church.
