Joseph Snelling, Jr

of Hoover, died peacefully at home on Friday, April 22, 2011. He was the son of J.C. Snelling and Josie Hendon Snelling Pritchett. Joseph was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church. After serving four years in the US Air Force, he graduated from the Medical College of Virginia and Birmingham School of Law. He worked for the Veterans Administration for thirty years as a hospital administrator. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Grace Snelling, his daughter, Amy Johnston and son-in-law, David Johnston. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, Monday, April 25, 2011, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Hwy 150 in Hoover. A graveside service will follow at 11 AM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, Dr. Buddy Gray officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations to your favorite charity.
