Mr. Joseph Guy Hogan, Sr., of Hoover, AL, formerly of Atlanta, GA, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the age of 82. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during WWII in Germany and Austria. Mr. Hogan was a faithful member of Riverchase Church of Christ and was retired as a regional manager from Reynolds Aluminum. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend and example of Christ who will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Joe Hogan and a grandson, Justin Guy Hogan. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Hill Hogan; children, Judith Diane Hogan, Deborah Hogan McCrady (Joe), Joseph Guy Hogan, Jr. (Kathy) and daughter-in-law, Patricia Coia Hogan; grandchildren, Melynda Fannin Vallance (Tom), Michelle Fannin Moore (Erik), Jason Kristopher Hogan (Brandi), Joseph Edward McCrady, IV, Christin Rebecca McCrady, Nicholas Scott Hogan (Kim), Patrick Lawrence Hogan, Joseph Guy Hogan, III and Rebekah Jo Hogan; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Caroline Vallance, Gabriel Moore and Branson Hogan; and a brother, William Carl Hogan (Jo Ann). The family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2011 from noon to 1 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Mike Underwood and Dewayne Spivey officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer, AL. >
