Josefa Luna

Mrs. Josefa D. Luna, age 81, of Birmingham, AL, passed away October 3, 2011. She was born in Panama and moved to the United States in 1958 with her husband, Roberto. She was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jackson, MS and currently attended Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. She was devoted to raising her children and then worked for Madison Weavers in Jackson, MS. She was a devoted and loving, wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by a son, Roberto Luna, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roberto Luna, Sr., a son, Alexander Luna (Beth), a daughter, Elizabeth Maziarz (Michael), a sister, Dora Almillateguie, nine grandchildren, Blake, Taylor, Anna, and Abbey Luna, Brandon, Christian, Zachary, Alexandra, and Gabrielle Maziarz. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 5, 2011, from 5-7 PM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 6, 2011, at 10 AM at the church. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
