Johnny Thacker

Rev. Johnny Thacker, of Alabaster, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 20, 2016, a t the age of 63. He was a loving husband, father, and Papa, and he was a friend to everyone who knew him. Johnny's pastoral ministry, which spanned from 1983 until his death, included Shannon Church of the Nazarene and Sparks Gap Missionary Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Rebecca Thacker; sister, Billie Lou Bonner; and his daughter, Rhonda Thacker. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce Thacker; 2 daughters, Candy Wesson and Misty Gillispie (Phillip); 3 grandchildren, Isaac, Avri, and Eli Gillispie; his sister, Clarice Booth (Kevin); his brother, Donald Thacker (Alice); his brother-in-law, Joe Rainey; and his nephew, Aaron Bonner.

The family will receive friends from 10-12, Friday, September 23, 2016, at Sparks Gap Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral will follow at 12:00, Ed Bearden officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
