passed away at his home on December 19, 2005 at the age of 79. He was born in Butler County, AL on January 5, 1926. Mr. Chambliss was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and retired from Baker & Sons Dairy. He was a longtime member and deacon of McElwain Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Frances Mote Chambliss; a son, Benny Edward Chambliss (Susie); a daughter, Susan Chambliss Coley (Steve); two grandchildren, Jacob and Ashley Chambliss; a brother, Dr. Hugh O. Chambliss; a sister, Mary C. Etheridge; several nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 22, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with interment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
